It’s been a little while since my last post- I’ve been busy growing my business and creating some products.
In fact, I wrapped up and released my second product on the Warrior Forum just last week.
In my journey as an internet marketer, early on, I really wanted to give up. I remember thinking to myself, “this is all a scam”, “this doesn’t really work”, the same naive stuff that people who don’t get anywhere in life tend to think.
But, I am SO glad I have stuck through. My journey is far from over, and I plan to move forward with as much ambition as I can.
That being said, I want to share with you the five most important traits to possess if you want to see success online. These probably apply for most things in life; but are a must have in this business.
1) Have Ambition
97% of people who try to make money online end up failing. And the number one reason for this is because they think it’s going to be as easy as pushing a button. (And admittedly, many products lie and make it seem that way). To be successful, you have to WANT it more than anything. No one is going to do it for you. Sure, there are a ton of tools along the way to make it easier, but a lawn doesn’t get mowed by the lawn mower operating itself.
2) Be Consistent
In order to BE consistent, you need ambition (that’s why I listed it first :)). Your efforts are totally wasted if you work for 1 or 2 months and don’t see results, and then give up. However, if you keep moving forward, your efforts that you have been building slowly will start to pay off. You don’t lay out 100 bricks for a house and then give up…you keep going until it’s done.
3) Be Open Minded
Open Minded-Ness. I don’t even know if that’s a word. But it’s surely needed to succeed online. In any business really, a lot of people absolutely REFUSE to change things about their business, even if those things are the sole cause of their businesses demise. If something isn’t working, you have to TWEAK it, until it does work. And many people don’t understand this. If you send an email out to your email list promoting an offer and hardly anyone clicks the link, that’s not cause for “giving up” and saying “it doesn’t work”. That’s cause for saying “okay, which elements didn’t work in this scenario? How can I improve the subject line, body of the email, and even find a better suited offer for my list?” THAT’S how it’s done.
4) Get out of the “buyers” mind set
Now, I’m not saying stop buying products. It’s important to learn from others in order to become successful and stay successful. Certain things do change with time. However, if you’re a “serial buyer”, and you buy every shiny object you see just to have a collection of shiny objects, you aren’t going to get anywhere. You’re better off buying ONE product at a time, trying out the methods within that product, and then putting your own personal spin on it to see how to make it even better.
5) Build Connections
Now this doesn’t come easy, and it takes time to do it right. I’m not saying spam every successful entrepreneur out there and say, “hey help me out!” or “hey, buy my product!” But, you can start stimulating conversation with like minded entrepreneurs, people starting out and even advanced marketers. Those relationships will grow over time, and you can see some very exciting joint ventures coming down the road from the relationships you make. Remember, be a little bit social!
And there you have it. If you can do these five things, you WILL be able to make it online. Talk soon 🙂
